"What we do when we assume no one is paying attention, demonstrates our true character."
---Setting:: Room 302 at a Philadelphia hotel.---
---Time:: 10:30.---
---Date:: 10/8/13.---
===After EOV published their card; revealing that Hale would be making his debut in a triple threat match against Marco Valintine and Dallas Bonham, certain sections of the public were quick to nominate him as their pick to win, whilst others were picking either Dallas or Marco. It's something that is common---Marco is in his second EOV match; both Hale and Bonham are making their EOV debuts. Whilst some might see a debut as a chance to make something happen, make sure that their presence is felt in the weeks to come, Vincent sees it as simply another match. Its not the most conventional of approaches, it's what works best for him; what has allowed him to maintain the focused intensity that he is renowned for having. The mental desire that he takes, into each and every encounter that he finds himself partaking in. No matter who he is against; what the stipulations are to the battle. Currently, he is seated atop a black leather one-seat couch, which has a oak base; attired in a black 'Vincent Hale' shirt, jeans that are being held up by a black leather belt and white Nike athletic sneakers. A slight smirk is upon the mans face, whilst the rest of his emotions are seemingly well hidden. Almost revealing a stoic frame of mind; a determined focus on something that's unknown---that's if it isnt about his impending match.===
"Say all you want," are the first words to leave Hale's mouth. "It ultimately doesn't mean a thing," his comments cutting in nature, it's obvious that he wants to get straight to the point; say what needs to be said. No messing around required whatsoever. "If you're unable to back those words up inside of the ring---where everything that is spoken, can just as easily come back and bite you on the ass," smiling, you can feel the calmness begin to rise within the air, despite the overall intensity of Hale himself. "See, I'm not the sort of person that you come crying to when you have a problem with anything that is stated; I'll just tell you what you 'need' to hear,". "That being:: That if you're offended by something so menial as a few statements, then I'm afraid that you're not cut out for this business. That you might want to try one of the 'other' occupations that are flying around out there; always searching for new people to sign up for them,".
A slight grin is all Hale is willing to throw toward those who are bound to come out and call him 'harsh' for speaking whats on his mind, without a regard for who might be listening. It's never been how he is. "I mean---people hurting your feelings; shooting down your dreams and aspiration is 'only' a slight on who you are, if you allow it to be. You've got two choices when it comes to wrestling:: you can talk yourself a big game; allow your ego to get the best of you---or you can simply go out into the ring; leave all the 'talking' to your own actions," allowing the audience to consume his words, Vincent simply continues to hold the right hand side of his mouth into its slight grin. "If you choose the first path, don't be surprised if the fans; the critics start to unload on you, at the first moment you start to fail."
"That you start failing to live up to the 'hype' that you gave yourself,". "All because it's been proven that you were simply 'talking trash'; never truly stood for anything inside of the ring,". "People get me confused with that sort of person all the time," shrugging his shoulders, he slightly widens the smile. "Honestly, it's all because of the fact that I could not care less what the 'public' thinks of me:: the only opinion that does---and should---matter, is the one that belongs to me," his eyes then mockingly roll, as he thinks about the sorts of things that he has read in recent days---including comments from one of his two opponents for the impending EOV match:: Dallas Bonham. In those comments, he came out and not only shot a warning to Hale and Marco, but called both men 'assholes'.
===That's something that Vincent has never allowed to dictate his emotions. Nothing that anyone can say about him, bothers him; nor does it direct his attention to them, at all. No matter how somebody tries to rattle Hale, he's not the sort of person to crack---hell, it's unlikely that he'll even realize what's being said about him, unless somebody goes out of their way to bring it to his attention. That happens more often than not---but still, trying to play tactical strategy with a man as smart and mentally aware as Hale, usually leads to bigger issues down the line. It's been that way, ever since High School:: opposing defensive linesmen would try to play mind games with him; tell him that they had him covered---only to be embarrassed when he constantly found ways to get by their coverage; control the offensive tempo of the game for his team. It's been the same for alot of his wrestling career:: opponents will try to talk down to him; he'll shut them up in the ring. There's nothing that can change results, when it all comes down to it.===
"You can't change somebodies thoughts---and nor should you seek to," taking a deep breath, he allows those words to sink in. "For if you go out with the intention of doing that, you get carried away from making the impact that you have to; ultimately leave it all open for the foe to walk out victorious. The moment that you give them a reason to prove themselves right, is the moment that you cost yourself the chance to prove them wrong. To make them see things that you envisioned that they would," his words radiate throughout the air, their truth unquestionable. "It's about making sure that 'you' are the one that's in control of what you do---if you're not, then you're allowing yourself to be painted in an image that is contrived by fickle people---those who will twist and turn their thoughts at the drop of a hat. You cannot be focused on anything else but whats set out in front of you," pausing slightly, he allows a smirk to come upon his face.
"That meaning, that once the match begins---that 'must' be the one and only thing you've got your sights set on. Because after all, it's not about what somebody might say---it's about what you do," a second deep breath leaving his mouth, you get the feeling that Hale is refusing to play the game of popularity. That he is speaking the opinion that he believes people need to hear. Not simply what they 'want' to hear spoken. "And what you do, is what will be remembered in the annuls of time---so whether that's falling flat on your face in prime time, or surviving; even thriving when it was all on the ring, it still shows your true character---what you're 'really' about, behind the facade. Behind the act,". "Marco and Dallas, i sincerely am not bothered about your past; nor am I concerned about what you're going to desire is the impact you lead,".
"It matters none; might as well be the trash that i throw out each and every morning---oops sorry, that 'could' be seen as trash talking," breaking out into laughter, he knows that the words are bound to be misinterpreted by somebody. "To me---all that matters, is which one of us takes the opportunities that have been presented. The chances that will come as the match wears on; make it ours," smiling, he knows what he's about to say might be obvious to some. "It is that---and that 'alone'---that will decide the winner," one final breath, accompanied by a wry but confident smile as Hale goes to stand up. "For words are meaningless now---it's the actions that will be permanent,". He then gets up, off the couch via the usage of his hands and walks back toward the bedroom section of the hotel; relaxed and confident as always.
