Chelsea: Do I have to do this?
Woman: If we’re going to help you any, I’m afraid you do. But I’m right here, ok? Just close your eyes and I’ll talk you through it.
Giving a slight nod I run my hands along my dark blue jeans before pulling my black jacket tight around my body as I lay my head back against the soft black leather of the chair letting my black and red hair cascade down the material. Taking slow deep breaths I let my body relax the best I can as her calm voice comes through to me making me focus on her and her alone.
Woman: Ok, Chelsea just listen to me and tell me what you see while we go along.
Chelsea: Ok.
Woman: Let your mind open, you’re backstage a few days after the EoV pay per view...tell me what you remember.
Chelsea: I was walking to my locker room…
I can picture it clearly as even the hum of the lights above me flow through my ears as I can feel the cool metal of the door handle touch my fingertips, suddenly a voice breaks through causing me to turn around.
Chelsea: I was getting ready to walk inside before Danny caught up and asked me for an interview.
Woman: Ok, what happened next?
Chelsea: We started talking about the pay per view…
His voice sounds through as I remember each answer clearly as he got talking about Chase Michaels, I feel my body tense as her voice comes through willing me to calm.
Woman: I’m right here Chelsea, you’re ok. What happened after that?
Chelsea: He asked about my past with Chase…I told him it was complicated and that I had been communicating with Vi…
Woman: Who were you communicating with Chelsea?
Chelsea: Vi…Chases other half. That’s when he ran in.
Woman: What happened then?
My own scream rings in my eyes making me tense as I feel my back against the cold concrete wall, he pins me as I try to move but even I know it’s not worth it. I manage to look into his eyes as I feel myself become petrified as I see the coldness radiating from them.
Chelsea: He pinned me against the wall and started threatening me…I couldn’t blame him, after all I’ve done. But that look, his eyes…I didn’t know what to do…I…I tried to apologize but he only pushed me harder against the wall.
I hear my voice trembling as the sound of his punch hitting the wall right next to my head causes me to jerk against the chair as I let out another scream willing my eyes to open but they stay sealed shut.
Woman: It’s ok, calm down Chelsea. We’re almost done…what happened after that.
Chelsea: He…he told me I was lucky. That if it wasn’t for Vi….for his other half that I’d be buried alive by his hands. He said more but I can’t remember after that…he let me go and I fell to the floor. I didn’t know what to say…I knew he was telling me the truth…he wanted me dead. What…what if he does…but then I have a match…I can’t let that happen. Vi…his partner won’t let him do it…I know she won’t.
Woman: Chelsea, you keep running from a name…you’ll go to say it but then change it. Whose name do you want to say Chelsea?
Chelsea: I…I can’t. He’ll hurt me if I say it.
Woman: He’s not here, it’s just us…just say it.
I open my mouth as her name almost flows from my lips but I see his face jumping into my mind as I scream making my eyes open as I look behind me standing up as I back against the wall looking all around me as tears sting my eyes.
Woman: Chelsea…Chelsea calm down, no one else is here. It’s ok, just calm down.
Chelsea: No! You don’t get it! You don’t get what happens when he threatens people and they don’t listen! You don’t know him like I do!
Sliding down the wall I sit on the floor I pull my knees to my chest as I shake my head feeling my sense of composure falling away.
Chelsea: Why did you make me do this! I shouldn’t even be here!
Woman: Chelsea, do you know why you were asked to come here? You were asked because a fellow co-worker saw your, quote unquote “meltdown” and thought you needed my help. That’s why I asked you to do this Chelsea, it wasn’t to hurt you...it was to help you see what was happening in your mind. Chase is gone Chelsea, so is Vixe…
Chelsea: Don’t say her name! You can’t say it around me! He’ll hear you!
Woman: No one is going to hear me besides you. We’re the only ones in the room right now.
Chelsea: He has ways…he’ll know! You can’t say it!
Getting to my knees I crawl across the floor looking into her eyes with a pleading look as I hold my hands together in front of me.
Chelsea: Please! You can’t…you’ll get me killed…you can’t say it!
Woman: Ok…I won’t say her name. How about you sit back down in the chair and we move on to your match this week…you do remember you’ve been booked right.
Nodding I back toward the chair looking around me before I move the chair against the wall so I can see the whole room before sitting down and pulling my knees to my chest, forcing myself to take a few deep breaths as I glance toward her.
Chelsea: Yeah…yeah it’s against Michael and Kareem.
Woman: Right, and do you remember who you’re teaming with?
Chelsea: Jason Kaine…right?
Woman: That’s right, now have you been preparing for this match any?
Chelsea: A little…I went to the gym yesterday.
Woman: By yourself?
Chelsea: No, my friend Melanie went with me...i couldn’t go by myself.
Woman: How do you expect to perform decent in this match if you stay paranoid Chelsea? Are you just going to let Jason take on those two by himself?
Letting out a small laugh I feel my chest getting warm as I merely shake my head before slowly relaxing my body.
Chelsea: He couldn’t do it alone…
Woman: What makes you say that? Didn’t you help him at the pay per view, I mean everyone says you two have a past…hasn’t he won some pretty big championships?
Chelsea: That was TJ…this isn’t TJ. Michael, Kareem, and Tommy…they hunt him like Chase hunts me…he doesn’t stand a chance. I want to win…but he holds a big target, it won’t be easy.
Woman: What about this other side of you Chelsea, I’ve heard that you have a sort of second personality that comes out when you’re pushed…why didn’t she come out with Chase?
Chelsea: I’ve used her against Chase…he knows her too well...it wouldn’t do any good. But against them…against the UN…they don’t know her…against them she would work. Against them she could win…
Woman: Ok, so what do I have to do to pull her out and get you out of this state of paranoia? Because honestly Chelsea, I want to see you win this match…I’m a fan of yours and I don’t want him hurting what you have started. Can you connect to MoD for me Chelsea? Can you….right now?
Chelsea: Right now?
Woman: Right here, in this office…I’ll lock the door so no one comes in and you can break through his paranoia.
Chelsea: Are you sure?
Woman: I’m positive.
Chelsea: And…and I won’t get into trouble because you asked…right?
Woman: Right, I’m asking for this…let’s see her, ok?
Standing up she crosses the small room as I close my eyes hearing the subtle sound of the lock clicking shut, listening carefully I wait for her to make her way back to the desk as I take a deep breath allowing my body to relax. Letting memories run through my mind I allow every flash back of MoD to come to me as I can feel a crimson smile spreading over my lips, my eyes begin to burn a bright emerald green allowing her to take over as her cruel laugh echoes out of my own lips. Opening my eyes I stare across to the desk where the therapist sits, her face is one of serenity as I can sense the small pockets of fear lying within her body, allowing myself to stand I cross the room standing in front of her. I know I hold no control of myself as I can tell she is starting to see it as she backs up slightly from her desk only causing another laugh to fall from my lips.
MoD: Awww, are you getting scared now? But you said yourself…you asked for this.
Woman: I’m not scared, I just like my personal space and you’re getting kind of close.
MoD: Really? Something tells me you’re not being honest with me Christy…
Woman: How…how do you know my name?
MoD: Wouldn’t you love to know, I have my ways sweetheart…but sadly you’re not going to get to see any of them.
Woman: What do you mean?
Her eyes widen as I lunge across the desk putting a hand over her mouth just as her scream vibrates against my palm causing me to smile as I stare into her dull eyes.
MoD: Aww sweetie, come on none of that…it’ll be quick I promise.
She fights but I hold my weight against her keeping her seated in the chair as I pull my right hand back before catching her hard against the side of her head causing her eyes to water as she stops fighting me, her body starts going limp as I notice I’m blocking her airways before letting out a sickening laugh as I remove my hand letting her head fall as she sits in front of my unconscious.
MoD: She should have known when to stop with the questions…she did ask for this…we heard her, right? Yes of course I’m right…let’s finish this shall we?
Standing I glance around the room before noticing the clean glass table sitting in the corner of the room as a sick smile comes over my lips. Picking up Christy I feel her stirring slightly as I laugh again as we edge closer to the table.
MoD: This is going to be fun…
Picking her up I hold her by her shoulders seeing her stir slightly before throwing her down as I hit Fade to Black, I smile hearing the glass shattering as a piece flies back catching my lip. Standing up I look down seeing her lay there unconsciously, walking over to the chair I pick up my leather jacket which has been laying there as I put it on before walking over and unlocking the door. Stepping out I see the receptionist as I jab my lip, looking at the blood on my finger as I smirk before walking over to the desk as I wink at her.
MoD: You might wanna call an ambulance for your boss; we had sort of a rough meeting.
Her face becomes one of fear as she glances through the door seeing Christy laying in the puddle of glass before picking up the phone as I hear her frantically talking to the operating. Using the moment of chaos I make my way to the elevator before hitting the button for the ground floor, I feel MoD wavering as I will her to stay strong knowing I will be back how I was without her. She agrees as I feel my ruby lips turning back into a smirk as the door opens with a ding letting me step out as I disappear down out of the lobby and into the streets, the sounds of sirens blasting from an ambulance reach my ears as I smile continuing my leisurely walk as I take in a deep breath.
MoD: This week I will be taking over…you boys better be ready for one hell of a fight…we’ll see who the crazy one is.
